Default A Question about movies on HDnet

You know I always read about all the cool movies being shown in hd on this network and I have always wondered about many of these titles. I mean have these titles all been remastered in hd and they are just waiting to be released by the appropriate studio? I mean what is the deal? Are some uprezzed "fake" hd? Anybody know? I can't get this network where I am, and have never even seen one movie on it unfortunately.

HDNet Movies is my favorite HD movie channel. They broadcast in 1080i and always show the films in their OAR. I have Dish Network and it's part of their "Voom" package. I bought an external hard drive for my DVR mainly due to this channel. Silence Of The Lambs just premiered, as well as Cliffhanger. One of my all time favorites Altered States comes on next week. It's great!

For the other part of your questions, that could be asked of all HD movie channels, and unfortunately there is no answers.

Actually there are answers.. and the answer your going to get is not one your going to like.... "It depends" lol :P .....TNT is famous for their stretch-o-vision upscale movies...HDNet I am sorry I cannot give you a definitive answer on that. As much as I hate to do it I am going to recommend that you go to AVS and look under their HDTV Programming Forum they have TONS of info and people there usually know what is what....

I did forget about TNT. I really don't count them as a HD movie channel.

Some of TNT programming looks great. I watched some movies like Forest Gump and CastAway and they look good.

Yeah, when TNT's movies are actually in non-stretched HD, they look wonderful. Watched Swordfish the other day; great quality.

Meh, TNT is by far the worst high def channel out there. It's ridiculous. Almost everything they show looks worse than upconverting a standard DVD. I recorded Seven one day because it was in HD. I was like sweet. I forgot it was TNT. I turned it on the next day and deleted it because it looked so bad.
