Default Help with HD Cable

alright, yes, i am stupid lol. I have had a HD TV for a few years and never got the cable. Anyways, today I called up Comcast and it is $5 for the HD box...not bad. Or...6.95 for the HD HDMI box....I don't get it. Do I need that? Probably not right?

I do have HDMI but I can't see a picture difference between the component and HDMI of the cable. Oh wells. Just wondering.
thanks

I would say get hdmi for sure.
You might add an hdmi receiver and then you can run the cable box through the receiver.

Yea man, you want the HDMI box. It is stupid that it cost a $1.95 more though.

I noticed when i switched from component to HDMI the tv automatically formated the screen to the right aspect ratio. otherwise i had to switch from 4:3 to 16:9 when i went from SD to HD. Course i could have been doing something wrong

I just got HD cable last week and I had the same problem. I figured out how to get into the set-up menu for the cable box and there was an option I was able to change so it kept the right aspect ratio for SD channels.
For my Motorola box, turn the box off and press the Menu button on the box or the remote. Play with the settings (not many good ones) and to leave, press Menu again. Don't press power to try and leave the menu. I did that and it seemed to get stuck in the menu or turning off the box and I had to unplug the box to get it to reset so I could watch TV again.
