Default Viacom Pulled from DirecTV

Apparently, Viacom is looking for a 30 percent rate increase. DirecTV, as you might imagine, isn't down with that.

Now Viacom has pulled full episodes of shows from the internet as a response.

Either that or I'll be forced to illegally download those shows. This is some serious BS. It's a pain downloading shows that come on every day like Daily and Colbert.

I am growing ever tired of the greed of these media companies. Some of them and the increase they want for programming - look at your currently high bill then add X percent to it, would you be happy with it? I think Viacom is asking for 30 percent, which is still well above the rate of inflation, and shit programming at that. Locally here too, Hearst is fighting the cable company, wanting a 300 percent increase. And they still wonder why people bootleg?

And it's getting worse. DirecTV says they've agreed to Viacom's terms Viacom says they're making things up.

I'm completely on Directv's side, everything I've read from Viacom sounds like that a ticked off 13 year old girl. No one wants to see Nick Jr., or Spike, these channels should be allowed to die a natural death. Here they are forcing us law abiding citizens to break copyright laws.

Jon Stewarts bit on it was awesome calling out Viacom to stop screwing the viewers. "All your really screwing is old people, if you don't think everyone else already has a work around to see what they want, your nuts. I woke up this morning and my 8 year old son was watching The Dark Knight Rises in the living room in 3D".

Default Viacom pulled from directv

I think that The only way these companies will make an agreement is to go to court and settle this. Viacom are the ones who don't care about the consumers. They just want directv to keep paying more and more money. Viacom is being unfair to both directv and the consumers. What directv needs to do along with the consumers is file a lawsuit against Viacom.
