It starts rolling out in Washington D.C. and will move forward from there.

How is paying (yet another) company $30/month to lease their device newsworthy? Instead, invest in 2 TiVo DVRs, link them together to share content, and have full DVR functionality with each. And if you bought them outright, you own the devices as opposed to returning the rentals once you're through with them.

Edit: Just to clarify, my question was not directed at HDD, but the general media which loves to sensationalize the next "big thing".
