Default Comcast Introduces "MyTV Choice" No-Contract Channel Packages Based on Interests Inst

We're not to the point of picking individual channels yet, but this move from Comcast is a strong step in that direction.

It is a step in the right direction.

Shame this wouldn't help me as all the packages contain channels i would want. (sigh)

Rip off. The only way to get this is with triple play. So you have to have internet and phone added to this. Also they dont tell you is that the $25 dollars is local cable only (no other cable like comedy central). I just want internet and cable, so to switch to this would actually cost me $8 dollars more, though it would include phone as well.

What we really need is per channel la carte, since the customer is still paying for channels in each package they may not want. In fact, you end paying MORE for the MyTV Choice packages vs. their Digital Starter package -- which btw, has more channels -- and that doesn't include all of the taxes and fees.

So in truth, this is simply a way for them to charge more for less. FAIL.

From the link, I see 2 options: (1) the "Create Your Entertainment Package" which allows you to choose a theme pack and (2) the "MyTV Choice Bundle" which includes TV, Internet and Voice services combined.

What is noteworthy is that this new customer pricing is good only for 12 months. After that, "regular" prices kick in, hence, negating any real savings beyond the first year. Buyer beware.
