Default Best HDTV Provider?

I've used Comcast since I first got an HD TV several years ago. Right now I'm paying about $140 a month for roughly 50 HD channels, two rooms of service, and one DVR (bundled with internet). We also get HBO and Showtime, but only 1 channel of each are Hi-Def.

Today I received a DirectTV offer for basically the same service for $29.99 for 12 months that includes a free DVR that works in every room and three months of all the premium movie networks. The DTV channel lineup also includes more HD channels that I don't currently get like Comedy Central and Cartoon Network. Looks like a no-brainer to switch.

I know the price will go up in 12 months, but I doubt it'll go up $70.

Is there something I'm missing?

What is the regular not-a-new-customer rate? That's what you're missing.

Also, how long is your contract? If it's a two-year or longer contract and you are only aware of the first year discounted rate, that's a warning sign. How many years are you willing to pay the elevated rate?
