Default Regal and Cinemark Theaters Pull Trailers to Protest VOD

Theater owners are doing everything they can to keep premium video on demand from happening.

I knew it was only a matter of time before films became avalible on demand at a premium. I'll still go to a theater day one for big event films. But It would be nice to enjoy a film in the comfort of my own home without cell phones and talking to distract me.

When the theaters can figure out how (or care enough) to make other patrons act like they have some manners and respect for others, then I (and many more) will go back to theaters.

100% Agreed! My wife and I went to see "Insidious" on Saturday. We opted for the 10:15 showing because I had thought since it was rated PG-13 most of the annoying "tweens" would go to the 7 or 8 PM show and there would not be so many at the last showing of the night.

Well, let's just say I was WRONG!! There may have been less but the prosti-tots that were in the theatre basically ruined the entire experience for both me and my wife. We left and I basically told my wife that is the exact reason why I prefer to watch movies in MY OWN THEATRE!!

Like another member posted I will only visit a theatre if it is something BIG and I just can't wait. Oh, and the amazing midnight cult movies, which talking is generally encouraged during those screenings and would be less fun without it; of course everyone in the audience has seen the movie 100 times too.

Going to the movies on the weekend is a bad idea, especially if you're going to a PG-13 movie. On the weekends, the movie theatres are really a baby sitting business. Do yourself and your wife a favor and go on a Sunday-Thursday night if possible. Most theatres are VERY slow during the week. If you go to a Regal, watch out for Tuesday, tickets are $5.00 and it's even busier.
