Default For all those getting the 360 Elite.

Although the data transfer kit which is included in the 120GB hard drive won't be included with the Elite, it is available from Microsoft for free, you need to own a 360 Core/Pro and buy an Elite to be eligible.

Thanks. And So far with the elite. With the HDMI I can get it up to 1080i on my tv finally. Noise wise...haven't played any games yet. But overall it seems alot quiter to me. Crackdown will be a good test since it's seemless loading. Upscaler wise through the HD DVD the pq of dvds is alot better then before running through component.

That's because the 360 will only upconvert to 480p over component. With HDMI (or VGA) you can actually get the 360 to upconvert all the way to 1080i.

The VGA goes to 1080p, if I'm not mistaken...

Thanks, my friend is getting one today.

He's been waiting in line since 12am PST at GameStop... it's 8:32am, they open at 11am.

I'm off to get mine in a few minutes. I'm also going to grab an HD DVD add on now that I can get 1080p through HDMI. My current HD DVD player displays up to 1080i and I'm anxious to see if there is any difference in PQ between players.

Are you sure it will playback SD DVD at 1080p? I thought they were only allowed to upconvert to 1080i over VGA. I could be wrong, though.

SD DVD, 1080i only. content protection issues.

i just noticed my elite has the benq drive, which makes me happy since my last one (my second system) had the 747.

nusilver...via VGA 1080p=ALL content....it will only do 1080i via component due to the copy protection..
