Default Play and charge USB for wall outlet?

Hi,

Does anyone know where their might be an adapter to allow you to plug your play and charge into an AC outlet rather than the xbox? Is there an official one or something that would work? I was thinking of trying my IPOD adapter but I dont want to blow anything up! ;-)

My sister's fiance used a charger to plug in his play and charge kit, as their couch is too far from the TV for the cord to be useable when plugged into the Xbox.

I'm fairly certain the charger is for his cell phone, but it has a USB female entrance for the cell-to-charger cable, so he simply removed the cell phone cable and plugged the play and charge in that, and then plugged it in the wall outlet near the couch for convenience.

As far as I'm aware, there doesn't seem to be any problem with the device being plugged into another USB power source, so if you have a cell phone AC charger (or a similar device) this should work.

I have a laptop I keep on the coffee table. You could use that as well.

I ended up buying a Griffin adapter with dual like this...

http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/rev...al-ac-charger/

but the battery on the controller was pretty damn hot. I'm thinking this isn't good.... going to try my laptop and see if it heats up as much.

edit* article says 500mA and 5 volts so it should be just fine...
