Default Fellowship of the Rings SDVD on HD DVD Addon

I was wondering if anyone was having issues with their FotR Extended version disc 1 playing on their 360 HD DVD add on? It seems to be the only disc that won't play out of my existing SDVD library.

Nope, in fact, I very recently watched the entire extended edition of all 3 films within the last month. Never had a problem and they looked great.

I have the exact same problem w/ the new Panasonic Blu-Ray player I just bought. Fellowship is the ONLY title I have that wont' play. And for me - its not just disc one. It's all 4 discs in that set. weird.

Neither will upconvert if you don't have the elite... So i don't get why anyone would be playing it via the 360. I watched all 3 on my upconverting samsung over the last month. Great Movies.. even if i have to fastforward some of the utter dull and slow hobbit scenes in the 3rd film.

I use my add on to upconvert via VGA. You don't have to have the elite.

Only way is to use the vga cable to hook up to your tv. My experience with the vga cable and my tv was rather poor and i wound up returning it.

It's the connection to your TV that determines if you will upconvert or not. Not the add-on. HDMI or VGA will upconvert SD-DVDs. Anything else will just display at 480p. Doesn't matter if you put the disc in the add-on or not.

Some TVs don't accept the VGA signal coming out of the 360 very well. The latest update was supposed to fix that and added a setting you can adjust to help with picture quality over VGA.
