Default MS hints at HDMI adapter for current 360's

Make of it what you will, but engadget is claiming that MS may be releasing what they term as a "component to HDMI adapter". It's not known exactly what this means, but if it's literally a "component to HDMI" adapter, that would be completely pointless since all digital HDTVs do an analog to digital conversion internally. But if this is an actual cable that plugs into the 360's proprietary port, than that may be a different story. Just a rumor at this point, but we'll see what happens I guess...

If it does come out, I'm sure it will be ubber expensive. I remember the rumored HDMI cable showed up on Gamestop a while back for $80. So, if you want HDMI that bad, why not just buy the Elite? It just seems silly to me.

If MS wanted to be nasty, it could bundle the adapter with a "premium" HDMI cable to justify a high price point.

I wonder if either of those options discussed above would be enough to circumvent those stupid copyright laws.
