Bad idea asking questions according Blu-Ray in a HD-DVD forum.

But yeah, it should work (at least in theory). The problems I see however: Slow streaming speeds (tearing or artefacting) and codecs not supported by the XBOX360

No you can't. Windows Media Connect works with whats in your Windows Media Player library.

However, the Windows Media Center team is back working on DVD streaming, I don't see why that wouldn't work with Blu-Ray discs, but you need a Media Center PC and use the 360 as a Media Center Extender.

Windows Media Connect and Windows Media Center are two different animals. In fact, Microsoft actually dropped the Windows Media Connect name and just calls it Media Streaming with Windows Media Player 11 because it was confusing people.

WMP11 streams pictures, music, and videos though the 360's Dashboard interface on the Media blade.

Windows Media Center does all that AND TV content using a TV tuner card back at your PC. It uses the Media Center interface to access everything back at you PC. It looks nothing like the Dashboard. It's booted by hitting the Green Media Center button on your Xbox remote or the Media Center button on the Media Blade.

Just to give you an example, I have my Vista Ultimate PC in my office connected to a Dish Network receiver and HDTV antenna via a TV tuner card. My 360 is in the living room and set up as an Extender to that Media Center PC. When I boot it up in Extender Mode, I get the same large 10-foot Media Center interface with access to my channel guide and recorded TV programs on that PC. I can stream live or recorded TV just like I was sitting in front of that computer in the office.
