Default Upconverting w/360 Add-on

Hey I am getting sick of watching SD DVD's, and so has the wife; she has gotten so used to HD, she feels she needs glasses when she watches a movie in Standard Definition.

So... I am just debating on whether or not to buy the VGA cable to upconvert on the 360 Add-on. Has anyone done this, and if so how good does it look compared to component? I don't have a 1080p TV, just a 720p Plasma.

I have the vga adapter and I have a 1080p Samsung DLP 61 inch. The PQ is great on via the VGA adapter.

Moving to HD DVD Consoles.

Some people prefer and some don't it really seems to be a matter of choice. Personally I prefer component, although unfortunately that doesn't allow upscaling!

I bought a VGA cable... just to find out my older HDTV doesn't accept 1080i over VGA... it looks like crap in fact.

Long story short, buy the cable from a place you can return it. Give it a shot and see if it's worth your money.

I have a Samsung 1080p 56 inch version..
I have a questions maybe you can answer..
Do you have a problem with shutting off the Video Noise Reduction when you have an upcovered DVD or reg dvd player connected?
I have this issue with my Samsung upconverting 1080p dvd player and VNR is greyed out on the TV.

On the VGA input do you have access to change settings like "warm 2" and "Movie"?
I like those two best IMO for all the inputs, but wasn't sure It VGA would have them greyed out.

I am thinking of getting a VGA cable for my XBOX 360 to achieve full 1080p for my add on, but is there really any difference in PQ quality from component?

I am using the VGA Adapter on my 360 with HD DVD drive. With the VGA Adapter, I can select 1920x1080 resolution on the 360 console.

I am not sure if it really makes too much a difference - because I am not sure if the HD Player takes advantage of it.

I get the impression that its slightly better than 1080i on Component cable - but not as much as 1080p on HDMI ( which unfortunately Microsoft does not have HDMI cable for my XBox 360 ).
