Default CoD4, the sniper mission on Veteran.

I'm paying through Call of Duty 4 on Veteran now that I beat it on normal.

I'm on the sniper part where you have your sniper buddy laying in over to the rear of the ferris wheel and you have to wait till the chopper comes in to extract you. This part is so fuckin' hard I'm gonna go insane.

Is there any special trick anyone is doing to beat this part?

I have only gotten to the part where the chopper arrives twice now and both times I ended up getting shot up to badly I didn't stand a chance. Not to mention they only give you 30 seconds to get to the chopper because it's getting low on gas!!! FUCK.

I'm playing on the second to hardest difficulty and it took me so many tries until I laid to my partners left and it was pretty easy. Beat it first try.

i went to the concrete barricade to the left of where you leave capt. macsomthing. i shot the bad guys coming out of the first chopper (i didn't have to kill them all) i then waited in the same place (at the edge of the concrete barricade close to the capt.) until another chopper shows up near me. i think it's the last of five or so and try to shoot the guys and any i miss i shoot on the ground. they usually try to hide behind a bunch of junked cars.

while at the same time i check around the edge of the concrete (the edge should be behind me and to the right) and shoot any bad guys i can. i should be facing toward the Ferris wheel when i'm shooting around the barricade. i then check again at the pile of cars to look for any more bad guys. i look back and forth and eventually they stop going to the pile of cars, so then i concentrate on the other side of the concrete and using it as a shield when firing at baddies toward the Ferris wheel and the little ticket shed thing.

all this time i'm listening for dogs and backing off when a grenade is thrown. i also watch out for guys right on the other side of the concrete barricade. if i survive long enough for my chopper to pick me up, i run to the capt. who is not that far and should be very easy to pick up and run like hell to the copter.

Check this vid out, you can get an idea of how to go about it after watching this. I made use of the flashbangs and C4 when in time to pick up McMillian.
Should be easy street from there.

Hey, you think this is hard, wait till you get to the "Mile High Club" Achievement. The hardest level I've ever done in awhile. It's one of those achievements that you got to pump your fist to when done, shoot actually do some cartwheels while your at it.

kind of lame but you could C4 up the area where they choppers drop the guys. then blow it when they are all on the ground.

also I made a perimeter with the claymores about 15 feet out from cpt & myself in the form of a wedge with the tip pointing towards the hotel.

then I layed prone behind the tree next to the cpt to use it as a shield. then thank the lord most of the men ran towards the wheel and it was just head shot city.

but I hear what you mean it took me at least 10 times to accomplish this. the worst part is the load master for the chopper stands right in your way so you have to hop up and down to get around him.

crap. can't wait to get home and get back to this game. IMO game of the year hands down.

Yeah this took me a couple of times, I beat it on hardened, I just posted up on the right side of the ferris wheel on the platform. 1) snipe the 4 guys coming out of the first helicopter on the left as they're repelling.......reload 2) snipe the 4 guys repelling out of the far right copter 3) snipe the ones in the middle make sure and get the dogs 4) u'll probably be outta amo so I'l switched to my AK and started popping the ones running through the fence on the right, u have to be accurate or u'll get owned. Make sure and use 'nades and bangs........ that's how I beat

It was done on hardened, but I applied some of these tactics on veteran.
Notice how he ran towards the ferris wheel (once your chopper is there), he uses his C4, I done that...then throwing 1-2 flashbangs behind me, and 2 more (towards the chopper) before picking up your ally.

Note: you don't have to place a C4 from where he's posted at, just stick to the wall as close as you can of where he's at, and no one should know your there.
Wait till the chopper get's there, and then start owning.

I gotta say this part of the level was retarded hard, and even though the above video is a real cheap way out it does work. It took me a few times its all about C4 placement and then blowing it at the right time and running fast to get him. Your also going to have some tough times when your rushing a control room in a few levels and trying to make it down a hill(I'm trying not to spoil the game) but its not as bad as this was.
