Default When will Xbox360HD player be able to decode Dolby plus or TrueHD?

I just wish that toshiba and MS will get their shit tiogether and release a firmware upgrade so that using a "digital" sound connection such as digital coax or the fiber optic connection ( which is what I am using) will allow a user to actually decode and play back the Dolby True HD or digital plus as they are truly meant to be heard ..instead of some simulated 5.1 dolby digital bit stream. Right now the DTS ( which is still not actually decoded correctly) is heads and shoulders above both trueHD and dolby plus, and it still says "dolby digital 3/2.1" on my BRAND NEW Audio/video 1500 watt $850 top of the line 7.1 Denon reciever.

There is an update coming soon which allows for the decoding of DTS.

The current 360 setup will not get you Dolby TrueHD even with the update. THe update will give the abilty to decode DTS and I think decode the Dolby TrueHD track to 1.5Mbps DTS, but with the limits of the optical cable, the full capacity of the soundtrack will not happen with the 360. If they actually release an HDMI breakout cable, maybe ten the 360 will be able to decode the tracks properly. Amir has even said himself that if you want the best sound, the Add-on is not for you.

I've always found it curious that the Microsoft team seems intent on misleading folks by claiming that the XBox 360 HD-DVD add-on offers TrueHD playback. I knew this was a limitation when I opted to buy this low-cost HD intro player, but I do a double take every time I see a quote from them implying that TrueHD is available through the add-on.

Not sure what the salesman told you but $850.00 on a Dennon isn't even close to top of the line. More like 7 x's that amount

(either that or you have a really good connection for Dennon electronics )

Do you have a model #?

The AVR-2307CI is $799.00 MSRP and 100 watts per channel.

I don't know of any Denon that does 214 wpc (1500/7=214.285)

*I'm not teasing, I was just wondering.*
