Default MLB 2K7 PS3 Version Inferior to 360

From the IGN review....

Quote:
* The 360 version simply looks better. The colors pop. The animations, at this point, run smoother. So much for spending $600.

* To top it off, while full 30-man online leagues will be available on the 360, right now the PS3 plan is for up to 12-man leagues (although the team is pushing hard to get 30-man teams in the PS3 version as well, but it might be too much to ask).

* What do you get if you're a PS3 owner? You get the ability to swing your bat by pushing the controller forward in a motion like you're sliding the soup back to the waiter because you just found a fly in your minestrone. First swing I took with the PS3 controller, I hit a homerun. Does that mean it's too easy? We'll wait and see, but something like this, in my opinion, would be better off left to the homerun derby. If you're preaching authenticity, it seems contradictory to then all of a sudden tell people that they have hold the controller flat out in front of their body then push it forward to swing. At least when you're playing Wii Sports, you're swinging the controller like a bat. Here, something about the experience just seems awkward. You can keep the soup.

Who said it wasn't? Most of the games that are available for 360 and PS3, were 360 ports to PS3.

Funny, cause IT DIDNT SAY IT WAS PORTED...aka YOUR MAKING IT UP....aka SHOW ME OTHERWISE. Just cause there were games that were ported doesnt mean this one is.

99% of sports games for xbox were ps2 ports, but they all looked and played better. Why cant PS3 look and play better too, if it is indeed a port?

I'm not sure if its a port but even if it is that's still bad news for PS3.

More and more developers are seeing the Xbox 360 as the main console to develop for and the PS3 as an afterthought.

Last generation it was the other way around.

The IGN article also mentions how the loss of rumble will effect the game. I like to play with friends and have developed a habit of not looking at where my pitch is aimed, but feeling it. I guess that sounds a bit cheesy, the article explains it better, but it is something PS3 can't do. I would be uncomfortable aiming a pitch without rumble.

Rumble also comes into play when having to make a "pay-off" pitch. The cursor and controller move to increase the difficulty when facing a pressure situation. I guess some of that'll be lost with the PS3.

One thing they didn't mention much about was the batting control. I don't think I'd like tilting the PS3 controller to swing as I hated trying to tackle or get a jump with it while playing Madden.

I like the idea of having a swing stick, but it didn't work well last year. Hopefully that will be improved. I love the swing stick in Tiger Woods, which makes use of the analog control. The timed step and swing all or nothing approach of 2K6 paled in comparison.

The demo is on XBL. Anyone try it? I'll have to download it and check it out later.

I also posted this in SmackDown a few days ago, it's not a port and not having rumble in PS3 controller takes the impact away from hits and pitching zone.

downloaded the demo last night. I'm not a big fan of baseball, but I enjoyed the game. Great graphics. I just really suck at pitching!!!
