Default Xbox 360 Arcade Questions

I am looking at the 360 Arcade system and I am wondering if there are any difference in the basic system besides no hard drive and a memory card instead.

I am not looking to store a lot of information, but I of course want to save my games...this is why I never purchased the original core system.

Also, does the Arcade version have HDMI output?

And will the HD-DVD add-on work with it?

There shouldn't be any differences really except the hard drive and the games included and they should all have HDMI as well.

The HD DVD drive has its own internal memory so I think you should be fine with hooking it up to the Arcade.

Personally I would want the hard drive but if you can get one cheaper somewhere else or will pick one up at a later time that is cool.

do you think the arcade games that are included will be on the live cards where you input the codes or do you think they will be put on the memory card? i want some of those games that they are giving out and want to put it on my cue just in case people will be giving them away.

The games come on a disc so thats pretty sweet. They won't take up all the space on the memory card and you could even bring them to a friend's house.

Here is a link to Engadget's review of the Arcade and pictures of it.

you can also see the HDMI port in some of the pics in the below link. This makes for a decent package for someone looking to upgrade their 360 to HDMI and can keep their old hard drive.

I wish they would have included the "old school" joystick style controller. This would really emphasise the "arcade" aspect.

I've been thinking about getting an arcade box for the HDMI. And I still have a spare 20GB HDD from when I upgraded my pro box. If someone can confirm that this has a falcon chipset, I might jump on it.

The only thing really holding me back from upgrading to an HDMI console is being forced to be online to play my arcade games. Yea yea, I know I'm connected 99% of the time anyway but it still irks me a bit.

As for the Falcon chipset.... I really have no idea, a few people on the Engadget article posted that that one probably wasn't a falcon. IDK if they know what they are talking about or not. Also that console was in Engadget's hands a while before street date....
