Well the demo was brilliant but it's had mixed reviews. Think I'll wait a while before I get this.

The middling reviews nearly scared me off, but I bought the game on release day anyway and just finished it today.

The game is MUCH BETTER than I expected; I have no idea what the so-called "professional" reviewers" were thinking.

This is right next to GoW as my favorite 360 game. In fact, I think I enjoyed the single-player game even more due to the absolutely amazing bosses you face at the end of each level.

Plus, the game mixes up the on-foot levels with some very enjoyable mech action. The various designs and gun types add a ton of variety to an already explosive game.

In fact, the mechs are the hook that really reeled me in. I haven't had this much fun with a mech-oriented game, well, ever. I've tried to love those type of games in the past, but they never loved me back. The ones in Lost Planet do.

Graphically, this is a showcase for 360. Play the game and see.

And I haven't even touched on the online component, which I've tried but haven't played extensively. What I saw was a blast, however, and some have said the multiplayer itself is worth the price of admission.

Lost Planet most definitely rocks.

I've beaten the game. It was great, and I very highly recommend it if you like Gears of War, or shooting games in general.

Another thumbs up. I'm not a huge fan of shooters, but picked this up on an impulse, and I'm enjoying it... I'm about half way through I think.

Of course it does. I have no idea whether the game is native 1080p though, I very much doubt it - it's much more likely to be 720p.

I picked up EA's NCAA March Madness '07 over the weekend and it natively supports 1080p on the 360. Not sure what other games support 1080p though.

As far as Lost Planet goes I think its just 720p/1080i. The game was pretty cool but I didn't much care for the survival/heating element to it. I would rather it just been a run and gun than having to worry about keeping warm.
