Default Xbox 360 add on drive with a usb 1.0 laptop?

My gf is looking for the cheapest possible soultion to get some hd movie playback.

She has a new 720p / 1080i hd tve with pc monitor inputs.

I've read articles about how to get the 360 add on drive working on a pc but does anyone know if it will work on a 1.0 usb laptop?

Hmm, it might but don't think it will with only a 1.0 usb plug as the data transfer is quite high.

It requires USB 2.0. Plus, a laptop with only USB 1.0 probably doesn't have the processing power to play HD DVDs.

Wait and see what happens with the supposed HD A2W for $198 from Walmart.

It should, since Vista came out 2 months after the drive itself and they talked about being able to use it with your computer. You need a video card that meets the digital protection requirements (can't remember the technical name) or it'll refuse to play.
