Default Does your repaired 360 have the new 2nd heatsink?

After one full year of daily (2-4 hrs daily) use, my 360 finally RROD.

Oh well, I knew that it may happen. I took the time to "look" inside to see which heatsink set up was in my 360.(no I didn't take it apart, I looked through the vent holes on the bottom)

My main question is, after getting their 360's back have they recieved the same console with no additional heatsink or with the new heatsink OR a whole new console? Just wondering.

All newly repaired 360s are supposed to have the new second heatsink. Hey, who knows, they may have even put in the new 65nm Falcon chip in there as well.

I don't think anyone gets their same console back. They send you back one that has already been refurbished. After sending in my second failed 360, they sent me a brand new unit back. This was all before they started puting the heatsink in any units.

Mine, which I just got back a couple weeks ago, had the 2nd heatsink. It's also really noisy now too though. Really frustrating when watching HD DVDs, since during every quiet part of a movie, you can hear my Xbox humming.

I just got the RROD tonight. If they send you a refurb, do they keep all of your preexisting memory-- saved games, Xbox Live downloads, etc.? I'm going to be murderous if they don't.

Will be calling Microsoft tomorrow.

BTW, I know turnaround was lengthy before but has it gotten ANY better?

You don't send your hard drive with the unit. All they want you to send is the actual console. You keep the hard drive at home, so don't worry about the memory.
