I've never heard people talk about China with their over a billion population.

Does anyone know if PS3 is trying to get into Chinese market?

No one talks about China because it is a very poor nation.

Yeah, agree with you on this. They might not sell a ton of these to a rice farmer in Wuhan, but the cities are a different story.

It's about time we started selling more of our electronics in China, God knows we buy enough of theirs. Sadly I don't think HD DVD or the add-on will catch on there. The Chinese are developing their own (cheaper) formats.

Well that depends on how you look at it. The per capita income in China is less than $20k a year. Obviously the sitution in their major cities is completely different. And yes N. Korea is a dirt poor nation.

Yes I'm talking about the cities not the villages. The company I work for does more than $100 million worth of business with China. Many American companies are doing business with China now.

Microsoft knows how to run a business so they must see something in China

Isn't China still a communist country? My poly sci and econ might be a little rusty, but doesn't that mean that the profits from the $100 million worth of business your company does there is spread through the gov't throughout the heavily populated country, and that the income of people there is limited even throughout the cities?

Yes they are but China has changed, they have relaxed a lot of rules to bring in money to China. There are rich individuals now in China that didn't happen before. You can find many articles on China that talks about the boom there.
