Question Possible HD-DVD add-on problems

Hello! I've been lurking around here for a bit but just finally registered. I'm hoping someone here may have an answer for me.
Here's my problem: When I turn on my system with the add-on connected to my 360 it stays frozen at the opening logo screen. If I disconnect it, power on and go into the dashboard and then connect it it doesn't recognize the drive. I've had the add-on for over 7 months now and this is the first time this has happened to me, though I can't seem to get it to work now.
My question is, do you guys think it's an issue with the 360 or the HD-DVD drive? I won't have a chance to try it on another 360 until next week at the earliest. I'm just curious if anyone else has had this happen to them. Thanks in advance for any help!

I've had that happen when I booted up with a disc that my add on couldn't read. Doesn't sound like that is happening to you though. I'm thinking your problem is the add on though, but that's a guess.

That's similar to what happened to me right before my 360 went ROD. I was trying to play The Departed and the console got "stuck" at the 360 logo. I kept trying to restart it and it eventually just went red and stopped working altogether.

I can't say that's what's wrong with yours, because it sounds like you got it working without the add-on just fine. It could just be the add-on itself, but still, you might want to brace yourself for the worst.

In all honesty, I'm kind of hoping for the RLOD since my console has been having some Disc Read errors lately and red lights will give me a free repair
Anyway, I killed power to the systems last night before I went to work and tried them this morning with the same result (worth a try, right?). I'll be checking the drive on another 360 next week sometime so hopefully it will help clear up the confusion. Maybe it'll be a good excuse to buy another one or a standalone player to take advantage of the current free disc deals.
Thanks for the help guys. I was hoping someone could give me some insight on the issue and figured this would be a good place to check.
