Default 360 120GB Hard Drive Price?!?!

Why don't they lower the price of the 120GB hard drive? It shouldn't cost near as much as it does since the price difference between the Premium and Elite is only $100. The hard drive is $179! I could upgrade the hard drive without the wife noticing , a black 360 may stand out. My TV only does 1080i, so I have no real need for the HDMI.
What the hell?

I agree the price seem really high, Both the 120GB and the 20GB need about a 25% price drop.

Hopefully, more than 25%. Either that or add support for external USD Hard Drives. I am getting a 320GB for $89!

Same Here, I have been downloading alot of TV shows(V miniseries,Comedy Central standup), and would like to keep them longer without deleting to make room for others. Of course, the 20GB was more than enough tell I finally got XBL.

You know it's sad that the Xbox 360 HD DVD player addon is less then the freaking harddrive!! Plus you get 6 movies with it! I download Star Trek Enterprise , Deep Space Nine, TOS and Voyager episodes often and usually in HD and I have to erase other episodes all the time because of my 20 gig, I deff need to get a 120 but I been waiting for that price to drop. I bought an external harddrive for my XPS laptop that was a 250 gig for 116 bucks. Microsoft needs to make there 100 gig 50 dollars and the 120 a hundred dollars or less. I am sick of erasing episodes and downloading them again if I want to view them later down the road so I guess I am going to give in though.

Microsoft sells them to retailers for about $150, so you're not getting horribly raked over the coals. I mean, you still are getting raked over the coals...there's just no guy dancing on your blistering back afterwards.

I'm sure it cost less than $150 to actually make them though.

My HDD is also nearly full and it annoys me. Most part is music, but I've spend time to make nice playlists for different games and don't want to delete them, although I can stream it form my Mac. But 179 (sucks that the $ price mostly equals the price, it's always more expensive here) is far too much for an 120 GB HDD (of which one can probably use ~105 GB).
