Default Problem with "300"

Is anyone else having troubles playing 300 on their Xbox 360 HD-DVD add-on drive? I got the disc yesterday, and about 40 minutes into the movie the playback completely freezes up. I can't bring up the menu, skip forward, or do anything other than exit to the dashboard. The disc appears to be fine (no visible scratches) and other HD-DVDs play just fine on the same system.

Before I get a replacement, I wanted to see if anyone else had an issue or if they were able to play the movie just fine. I don't have another HD-DVD player to test it on myself. And yes, before you ask, my system is connected to the internet and performed the recent update when I first inserted the 300 disc, so that's not the issue.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Okay, thanks for the reply. I'll assume the disc has an issue for now and get a replacement from Amazon. However, as I'm now on my fifth Xbox 360, I'm a bit dubious.

Thanks again.

I just bought my copy of 300 saw the whole movie on the 360 add-on with no problems. Looked pretty awesome in HD. Take it back and exchange it for another one.

No problems here, although I haven't explored every part of the disk yet.

Either you have a serious OCD about having a 360 in every room of your house, or this kinda shows why system sales #'s don't mean crap. Five systems on a unit that has been on sale for less than 2 years?

Good call. That happened to me when I got The Departed. Froze during playback and then RoD.

kbeat, I'd fear for the worst right now if I were you.

Ha, I sure hope they don't count replacement 360s in their sales figures. By saying I'm on my fifth I don't mean that I've bought five, just that my son and I have had three of them die with the dreaded Red Ring of Death. I can't feel too bad however, as Brian Crecente over at Kotaku has had nine of them die on him.

(I tried to insert the URL to that story here, but I've not made 10 posts here yet.)

Scratch that, I still feel bad about mine.

Anyway, Amazon was great and immediately over-nighted me a replacement disc. I'll find out tonight if it was the disc or my 360. We watched another movie last night on it without issue, so I'm hoping it was just a bad disc. Thanks for all your replies. I can't wait to enjoy the movie as I didn't see it in the theater.
