Default No 1080p out of my HD DVD?!

I've tried searching for this, but I just bought a 47" Vizio LCD 1080p TV.
1080p looks awesome on the PS3, but when I play a 1080p HDDVD, it will only scan in 1080i. I'm using component cables.. Could this be the case?

What HD DVD player do you own? Not all of them display 1080p.

Also, your TV may not accept 1080p signal via component.

You need an HDMI cable, to get 1080p you need the Toshiba HD-A20 or the HD-XA2, If you are using the 360 add on you need an Xbox Elite.... Hope it helps

The Xbox 360 1080p update is going on 9 months old, and people still don't know you can get it through component and VGA?... Amazing...

OP, I'm guessing you have the 360 add-on... You can get games in 1080p through component, but nothing else... You would need VGA or HDMI in order to get 1080p from the HD DVD and the internal DVD player...
