Default Help! Something is Wrong.

So I put in my rented "Breach" HD DVD in my Xbox360 add-on drive and turn on the system. To my surprise the system never loads. When I turn on the console, all I see is the Xbox 360 Logo/introduction/loading screen and nothing else. It never loads the dashboard. So I turn off my Xbox 360 and try it again, nothing. Then I try ejecting the HD DVD suspecting that there may be a problem with it, but the HD DVD drive will not eject (not with console powered on or off). So I turn off my Xbox 360 and unplug the drive from the USB port. The dashboard loads fine, like normal. So I plug in the drive and try ejecting the DVD, nothing again. I then turn off the Xbox 360, plug back in the drive and try booting again. I have now been looking at the Xbox 360 logo on my screen for about 30 minutes. So I find my HD DVD drive installation disc and follow the instructions to reinstall it. "Congratulations, your Xbox 360 has been configured to work with the HD DVD drive" Great! Reboot the system, and another loading screen. I still cannot eject the disc!

If anyone has had this problem and knows of any solutions please help me! I'm not willing to come to terms with the fact that my HD DVD drive is dead.

I was thinking about buying a PS3 today and I'm pretty sure my drive sensed it and is just trying to piss me off.

if you are just trying to eject the disc, you can always plug it into a computer and see if it pops out. it might just be your usb might not have enough power or something.

just throwing it out there.

I'll definitely try that to get the disc out. Still, my Xbox won't launch the dashboard at all with the add-on drive still in.

if anything try another usb port, see if that's it. i don't know why dashboard wouldn't show up due to the hd dvd drive, but it's always somehthing to try.
