Default resume play on the 360 HD DVD?

Is this possible when watching hd-dvd's? I usually don't get to watch a movie all at once. When I start up the movie again, it always goes back to the beginning. Resume play actually works for sd-dvd's, but not HD. Just wondering if I am doing something wrong

thanks!

I haven't found a way to resume either, even if I shut down the console while the HD DVD is paused or playing...

You could always use bookmarks.

when i had mine sometimes it would resume from the same spot, and other times it would start over from the beginning. i think it partly depends on the movie too as the company who was behind it, such as warner, universal

Its a feature that needs to be encoded on the discs in order to do this, otherwise you'll need to use bookmarks.

I think I remember Amir posting in the Insiders forum that because the way HDi works, there's no way to get resume to work on HD DVD. I always use bookmarks to save my place.

But don't feel short changed - I don't think there's anyway to resume OR bookmark on Blu-ray. I've tried it several times and have posted the question in the BD forum if there is anyway to bookmark or resume on BD, and no one replies, so I guess you can't.

like I said, regular dvd's will resume on the add-on, but hd-dvd's will not.

anyway... getting back to the spot where I turned off isn't that big of a deal, but resuming would be nice

Just think of it like a computer. You lose the information unless you saved it(bookmark) when you turn it off.
