Default Universal's Catalogs, what happened?

Anyone else noticed lately with Universal's catalogs.

Since CASINO and OUT OF SIGHT, recent releases like The Game, Midnight Run and now Liar Liar. They are average IMO and that my HD-XA2 would've probably give me identical results.

Now I'm not sure if I want to open up my Blind Buy's? Born on the 4th of July, Sneakers and The Frighteners.

My brother who doesn't really pay attention to this. He said that LiarLiar, "doesn't look like it's High-Def,"

I think SNEAKERS looks fine also. I've read good reviews for THE FRIGHTENERS on other sites. This site gave it a low grade. I have it but have not watched it yet.

Midnight Run was a definite improvement but not up with the best by a long shot. Still glad I own it as it's by far the best version of a classic film out there

Are you buying movies with great PQ, or just because you like those movies?

Buying those movies I like with grat PQ..........
I'll buy SD if I don't care about PQ. Then what's the point of upgrading to HD?

Oh sorry I worded it wrong. I meant to ask if your just trying to find movies with great PQ, or do those titles specifically interest you.

I bought both Pirate movies because of PQ, and I dislike those movies.

I think what is happening is that we are seeing the "limitations" of HD so to speak. Not EVERY release will be pristine or razor sharp there are too many factors that could bring the quality of the movie down. If the master the movie was taken from was in bad condition then the HD DVD\Blu-ray will suffer as well. Also, if it was the intention for the movie to be "soft" or grainy then that has to be taken into consideration as well.

Well, I just finished watching SNEAKERS (Blind Buy). I love the movie and the HD DVD is a step up over LiarLiar.
