Default Circuit City warming to HD DVD?

I opened my weekly Circuit City circular this morning, and was shocked to see a 2/3 page HD DVD ad (w/ 5 free disc offer), and absolutely no sign of Blu-Ray. The ad features the a2 and a20 (which has a "Full HD 1080p" emblem over it) with the line "You'll be amazed by the stunning detail when you watch HD DVDs on Toshiba's HD DVD player". They also have a stip on the top of the page offering $200 off any HD DVD player with the purchase of Toshiba HDTV.

They may have had these ads before, but this is the first time I've see one without Blu-Ray mentioned somewhere else in the catalog. Maybe the BDA forgot to pay the bribe this week

Maybe now they'll actually make an HD DVD rack and stop putting them in w/ the DVDs

EDIT

And here was last week's...where they had a page 3 full page ad. Ironically, they put Night at the Museum on the TV, which isn't HD DVD

Last week HD DVD and Toshiba had the entire front page of the brochure along with other mentions on inside pages.

Apparently I've been living under a box because this was the first time I've seen an ad like this in a CC circular. But then again I never usually bother with CC.

Yeah! I saw the other day a pretty long commercial from circuit city regarding the Toshiba's HDTV's and HDDVD. The reason I picked HDDVD over BR was because of the pricing. If someone buys a new HDTV and they tell you all about HDDVD and how you can get one for $200 bucks with the purchase of a Toshiba HDTV you will probably take the plundge if they show you a small demo. but on the other had if you buy any HDTV and they tell you that in order to see the great looking movies that are playing on display (Bluray) you have to dish out $700 I cant see people doing that.

They finally brought their prices down as well. They are no longer at MSRP. Most of the movies cost $24.99.

I love how they put a huge picture of "Night at the Museum" on the HDTV with the HD DVD player! If that's not misleading, I don't know what is!
