Default Amazon NOT Helping!

What's up with Amazon.com? With all the negative talk regarding Paramounts recent "announcement" of "new" titles I went on over to Amazon to browse through the list upcoming HD releases. Found a couple of shocking things:

Two new titles - Before the Devil Knows You're Dead and The Assassination of Jesse James come up if you do an individual search for those specific titles.

But...

If you go to their HD DVD page, scroll down to Browse HD DVD Releases By Week, and click on Feb 12, 2008 and Beyond - those two titles are NOT EVEN LISTED!

What gives? How are people supposed to stumble upon these titles if they're not listed among the upcoming releases?

Perhaps it is a small consolation that the same titles are also absent from the list of upcoming Blu-Ray titles, but still.

How many new titles are coming out that Amazon is not listing?

Maybe it's just a glitch.

Don't get your panties in a hose over the fact that two HD-DVDs that the average consumer has never heard of, aren't listed for some reason

Only BVDs on this boy! I know...it's just a couple of titles, and probably not big sellers anyway. It's just frustrating. HD needs all the help it can get!

So JJ did you take things into your own hands and e-mail amazon to let them know? That's were I'd start instead of just moaning about it here... Not to be mean or anything, but I'm sure with ton's of products on line - they aren't paying close attention to two titles...

Yes - I filled out the feedback form at the bottom of the list calling attention to the omission, and providing all the details, including the complete titles and ASIN numbers. Can only hope that someone will pay attention. Achtung Amazon!

Default More "missing" titles!

I guess this is turning into a rant, but I can't believe the omissions on Amazon's future release list.

I did a title search with the string: HD DVD. This brought up a huge list of, what appears to be all HD titles - comparing this to the future release list -

it is immediately apparrent that Beowulf has also been omitted!

They probably have just not added Beowulf yet, too recent of an announcement.

The schedule is not really updated that much on Amazon. One way to look at future releases is to go to the HD DVD section, click on All HD DVD Titles, then change the Sort by to Release Date. It'll bring up HD DVD titles with release dates the farthest out and it'll go back from there.
Note: newly listed HD DVD titles take a while to show up in those pages.
