DVD PACIFIC has BEOWULF up for pre-order now. Street date remains Feb 26th. I pre-ordered it from them along with AMERICAN GANGSTER.

Yeah, I am going to order both of those from them since they are not listed yet on Amazon.

We should continue to pre-order HD DVD titles, even if they end up being delayed or cancelled. Uni and Par need to see there is still demand. If interest falls of significantly they may not decide to release them on HD DVD.

The Warner shift shouldnt be taken any differently than the Paramount shift. You never know, something could happen to change the tide once again! Seems unlikely at the moment, but you never know!!

I actually preordered on Amazon all titles from Universal, Paramount, Vanguard and Image just so they know there is demand. And frankly, a lot of those independent movies look very compelling - that is one of the main reasons why I have liked HD DVD better in the first place, more compelling movies with substance.

You know, if enough of these independents also stick to their guns, which they might since Blu-ray costs them a hell of a lot more, both in replication and AACS, that may also do a good part keeping HD DVD relevant, since the independent enthusiast crowd is not entirely insignificant, if not mainstream. That, along with more agressive pricing and other expansion tactics by Toshiba.

Have you watched the trailer for King of California and The Amateurs? They both look like good blind buys.

Well, I just ordered them because the descriptions and the talent involved looked good, but I do need to check out the trailers. I assume that they are on imdb?

Right.

And BTW: Just counted the studios supporting HD-DVD (without porn studios as Toshiba don't list them) vs the studios supporting Blu-Ray. 16 (HD-DVD) to 5 (Blu-Ray). So what?

Or are there any studios beside the major ones and 1 or 2 smaller ones settling on Blu-Ray?
