I wonder if the mention of the HD DVD is a mistake as no sites have made mention of it's release, only the DVD. Also the pricing and Tech info only relates to the DVD version. Wierd...

Thanks. I meant that it may be a mistake in the actual press release itself, we know that they sometimes get these things wrong... I hope it does get a HD DVD release, I'll most likely pick it up if so, and as long as the Hi-def version is the NC-17 disc.

I don't like the idea of this film being "viewed" as "softcore porn".

It's far more then that, and I was angry that no theater around me showed it.

I think the 'lol' means that the thread title is supposed to be tongue in cheek. A lot of the notices on the film seem to suggest that the sex scenes are the only really notable things about the film. I haven't seen it myself so can't really say, but am hoping for the best!

okay, i hope you're right.

as for the sex scene, i'm not sure why it's such a big deal. from what i read, it's nothing crazy compared to other movies with sex scenes.

Well, I'm not sure, but it was enough to earn the film an NC-17 in the US and also to require severe re-editing for release in mainland China. It's probably not such a big deal, it's just that sex sells I guess, and the rest of the film is supposed to be a bit dull and uninvolving. I'm still looking forward to seeing it though.

I'll probably give this a miss, i'm very liberal, but if there's one thing i can't abide, it's sex scenes in movies.
I find them to be completely un-neccessary, and usually are just included for pure titillation.
I like the old fashioned approach, screen fades to black, and use your imagination.
If i want to see people having sex, i'll but a porno.
