Welcome to the forum. If I may assume, you have already checked your connections, and checked that your 360 is outputting at 1080p. I would see if there are any firmware updates for either the 360 or the add-on drive that could be causing it. This would kind of assume you got the tv and the add-on at the same time, and you haven't had the add-on for long either. Last thing, if you may have either the tv or the 360 set for different frame rates, one set for 60p and the other for 24p, that may do it. Lagging sounds like refresh rate, so if the tv isn't defective, seems like it would be one of those things. Let us know how it goes.

Can you set fps with the 360? I thought the only settings are 480i/p, 720p, and 1080i/p.

Also if the OP can provide information on how the 360 is connected to the TV that would help in solving the problem.

Possible layer changes as it reads the disk.

That's it. Every HD DVD I've viewed using my Xbox360 HD DVD drive through both the 360 itself and my PC, have had this "skip". What seems to be happening is the drive is reading the next layer at this moment and since the drive isn't the fastest out there, you notice the skip.

I can't believe that this problem we suffered with on DVD is still present in HD DVD players. Ridiculous.

Well, you have 2 layers and the drive has to realign itself for the next layer which is underneath the first one. Think of it as a refocus. Better drives don't skip. Even some Blu-Ray players do it.

no, just because you didn't notice it doesn't mean it's not there.

It's more pronounced on some titles. Like on The Kingdom I noticed it, but couldn't see it on anything else.
