Arrow Pixar Movies on HD DVD?

Is there any particular reason Pixar movies (Cars, Incredibles etc...) aren't available on HD DVD yet? Is it because they have a business interest in the BluRay format, or is it because they simply have not got around to releasing it in HD DVD format yet?

I just wanted to be sure the statement "Pixar movies will never appear in HD DVD format" was not true.

It's because Pixar is now owned by Disney and currently Disney is Blu-Ray only.

Thanks for the fast response, guys.

Do you think they will appear on HD DVD EVENTUALLY? I mean, if they really are a business, wouldn't they want to maximize profits by releasing in as many profitable formats as possible?

Secondly, how do the regular Pixar movies upscale on HD DVD? Noticeable/positive improvement?

Pixar in HD is unbelievable. The likelyhood of it going HD DVD is about as likely as Universal coming to Blu though. Your question pertains to any studio but Disney is committed. They are the only studio actually doing a promotional tour for Blu. HD DVD doesn't even have that support from there studios

Last year, the HD DVD PRG was taking around a trailer with HD DVDs and a HD DVD players and an expert to demo HD DVD.

I don't know what happened to that, but I don't think they're driving that trailer around anymore.

Disney's only committed as long as the BDA is committed to giving them green paper.

What about a possible import from Europe or Japan? Does anyone own the rights anywhere else?

Disney/Buena Vista has most distribution rights.

Disney is a bit of an odd duck, they pledge there allegence to Blu, but do things like vote to support the 51GB TL1 disk on the HD DVD side...

If Blu-ray becomes the PS3 HD movie format, then Disney will release on HD DVD, but we are still quite a few years away from finding out if that is going to happen or not.
