Default Screen Noise ???

Ok with certain movies like transformers and clerks II my picture is really grainy looking, but movies like the bourne series loook perfect. is anyone else having this problem?? I have a A2 hd dvd player with the LG42lc7d tv. its
720p/1080i and i have my a2 settin on up to 1080i. is it just the movies themselves??? they all look like 300 does, grainy. should i upgrade to a monster hdmi cable or is there a setting on my A2 that i could use. thanks

Hi,

I can't comment on Clerks 2 or Transformers. But for 300 its the same for me too. In fact its the same for everyone. In fact it was like that in the theaters.

A lot of movie have intentional grain in them and that is a director's decision. 300 is really really grainy.

Don't worry about that. It is the director's vision and not your HD DVD player or TV.

And please don't pay the prenium for a Monster cable. this has got to be the greatest hoax in the history of consumer products. You can get better cables for much less than you would be for Monster.

Don't buy into that hype.

ok, but in transformers the robots look great but scenes where its dark, shia and megans skin textures are really grainy, just like in clerks II everyone skin is grainy but the colors of everything else are ok

That is the way it is supposed to look. It has absolutely '0' to do with your player/TV but the way the movie was made to look.
