Default The Exorcist

Is Warner planning to release this film on HD DVD? I heard rumors and I hope the rumors are true!

Just rumors at this point; but Monster HD is showing tomorrow night

Movies are so rarely great art that if we cannot appreciate great trash
we have very little reason to be interested in them.

If they do release it, I only want the original theatrical cut, not "The Version You've Never Seen, Unless You Have Seen This Version, in Which Case It's the New Version You've Also Seen, in Addition to the Theatrical Version, Which Everybody Knows is Better".

Agreed. The "Version you've never seen" destroys what was best about the original cut. Namely, even though the film had some dramatic effects (head spinning) in it, what made the film so frightening was its psychological aspects. The "newer" version abandons subtlety, instead favoring to beat audience over the head with cheesy effects.

I think Dominion was a good movie as well; much better than the "studio approved" Exorcist: The Beginning.

Sorry, my mistake. I meant afternoon (or mid-day) at 2:10 pm.

The earliest showing is at 9:15 am.

But it's been my experience that VOOM! goes by Eastern Standard Time -- that's when the HDVR comes in handy.

No problem. I recorded early yesterday morning. Haven't watched the whole film yet, but the PQ looks very good. Keep in mind this is the only other day this month it will be shown, according to Monsters HD.

I agree with you. I'm really tired of all these craptastic merry-go-round renditions. It completely deludes the original.
