They have a new one coming out early next year, it will be an HD DVD disc versus the existing DVD disc. I am waiting for the HD DVD edition.

Oh yeah, I got confused with Avia which is DVD. There is a new DVE coming in early 2008 though.

If you don't know what you're doing with it, don't get it unless you're willing to do a lot of studying of the manual (which it doesn't come with... download the PDF at their site). It's pretty confusing, but you can do wonders with your system with patience. BEWARE, though, that messing with your system's service menu can seriously mess up your TV, as it's usually irreversible. I almost screwed up my set, but after several hours of messing with it, i got it fixed.

I havent had a chance to use mine or "attempt" to. I spent aloot of time on my previous set so I dont mind the effort.

Well I guess I'll stay away from this one then. Thank you all for the replies. I was so close to getting myself into a bad situation.

The new one is different than the current combo, the new one is supposed to be a lot simpler and more for the non-enthusiast type.

I've had the combo disc since it was released and found it to be good and worth the money. One of the things you shouldnt do is use the service menu to tweak stuff unless you are willing to take the risk. At no point do I recall that this disc told you to access your service menu. Just the regular menu to tweak contrast, tint, etc...
