Default Is Children of Men ever coming out in a non-combo format?

See title

(And somewhat related -- when is Universal going to get rid of their nasty "The Look and Sound of Perfect" box art? )

"the look and sound of perfect" is a format-specific slogan. i know that the universal peeps believe strongly in hd dvd, but it's not as if GE (universal's parent company) has a huge stake in hd dvd. i wonder what toshiba had to do to get universal to slap the slogan on its hd-dvd covers?

Yes, just import it. I bought my Australian HD-DVD copy from Axel Music... it's only $22.23 plus shipping right now. It only took about a week and a half to receive it, as well.

Also, if the link automatically defaults to the Euro pricing, just look over to the left-hand side of the screen that says "Quick Links." In the box at the bottom is an option to change the currency to US Dollars.

Yes, but isn't the import in PAL rather than NTSC format?

I know there's no region coding on HD DVD, but so far I've been loath to import films in PAL 25fps to watch on my NTSC player (Xbox 360 HD add-on) and display.

Issues?

No, there's no such thing as PAL/NTSC with HD and the player is region free.

I got the import as well
I thought HDTV is 25 frames in europe/australia but I'm not sure about HD-DVD. still, I had no problems playing it back.

I haven't been able to confirm the no difference in NTSC/PAL online, but it sounds like people on this forum import a lot of discs so I'll have to try one to check it out.

I have 2 imports from Germany (Elephants Dream and The Island) and both play perfectly on my XBOX add-on

All HD DVDs worldwide are encoded in 1080p24 format. Discs from Europe are fully compatible with American HD DVD players.

What frame rate the player outputs (50 Hz or 60 Hz) is a function of the machine, not the disc.
