Default 1408 to come out on HD DVD in Germany

1408 was announced in Germany to be released in February 2008.
This is a Weinstein title in the US, however, no one knows, whether they'll release anything at all.

Well, if there is no word on it from Weinstein by then, I probably will pick it up.

I bought the SE (couldn't wait or pass up the $14.95 price)). Very good PQ and AQ. I love this film!

Finally, a German disc with a High-Rez English track. I might just order this one if there is no announcement soon.

we have very little reason to be interested in them.

Finally?

All Concorde releases have DTS-HD tracks, even for English.

Some examples, not only Concorde HD DVDs:
Tideland
First Descent
Death at a Funeral
Hannibal Rising
Fantastic Four
Fantastic Four - Rise of the Silver Surfer
Green Street Hooligans
Lara Croft: Tomb Raider
Lara Croft: Tomb Raider - The Cradle of Life
Alone in the Dark
The Jackal
12 Monkeys
Silent Hill
Underworld
Brothers Grimm
Resident Evil
Resident Evil: Apocalypse
The Perfume
Renaissance
Alpha Dog
Black Christmas

And all of them have DTS-HD 5.1, which is Hi-Res and uncommon for releases outside of English-speaking countries, to my mind.

^^ Well, area-hd must have updated their database, because for the last year I've been visiting their site, German imports always seemed to lack a High-Rez English track. Tideland and this title are the first I've seen coming out of Germany with such soundtracks. It's also one of the reasons why I held back from ordering Perfume, because the English track was only DD+. But now I'm looking at the site and see that the title does indeed have an English track in High-Rez. My mistake.

That's weird. My theatrical version doesn't have any truck ads. Maybe they are on the extended cut. One other thing unusual, before the film, the screen said something like "This DVD Is For Sale Only". Never saw that before. Sorry to get a bit off topic.
