Default So what about movies like.....

Minority Report, which has both Dreamworks and Fox logos?? Who gets the rights to release it?? I'm hopin Dreamworks so we could get a HD DVD release since it's one a my favorite movies..... but yeh.... can anybody clear this up??

Forgive me if this was asked before.... but I'm new..... I just wanted to post somethin

But, Minority Report is exempt from the HD DVD exclusive deal because it's directed by Spielberg so, it could hit Blu-ray as well.

Speilberg can sit on the films he owns the rights to, and thus block a release but I don't think it's ever been suggested that he could force a studio to releases a movie for the PS3 format, that's simply ridiculous.

I think it was stated at the time of the exclusivity deal that Spielberg's movies were exempted because they were "not exclusive," which presumably means they can still be released on BD without violating the terms of the agreement. I'm pretty sure he always had say on whether to release his movies on disc at all; he's had it for decades anyway, with previous video formats...
