Default HD DVD Exclusives in 2008

For those on the forum who still give a shit about real films and not the encoder specs on cartoons, here's a couple of upcoming HD DVD exclusives coming in 2008.

There Will Be Blood
Director: Paul Thomas Anderson
This script has been knocking about for a few years, and word has it it's good. Very Good. This is being tipped for film of the year.

No Country For Old Men
Director: Coen Brothers
With Tommy Lee Jones, Woody Harrelson. From the Cormac McCarthy Novel.

Beowulf
Director: Robert Zemeckis
Stylalised CGI Fantasy that should look great in HD. Very good cast.

Cloverfield
Director: Matt Reeves
AKA 'The Untitled JJ Abrams Monster Movie'. We still don't know the real title but my gut feeling is this is gonna be good. (See the trailer on apple if you don't know what I'm referring too).

Iron Man
Director: Jon Favreau
I'm sure I'll end up hating this for it's pro-militarism undertones but either way it should appeal to the 'Transformers' crowd.

World War Z
No director attached but Paramount still have this listed for '08. The book had a about hundred plot ideas, lots of very good potential here.

Spider Rat
Director: Michael Bay.
After being bitten by a radioactive rodent, an arachnoid chef exhibits bad hygen habits in the kitchen.

American Gangster is gonna be a very good disc. Will sell a lot of players. To be honest if I had to list all the exclusives coming out next year i'd be here all day.

Yeah, i really expect Warner to be added to the list of exclusive companies by next year too. When they that said that the low pricing was pointing to a strategy change, i'm pretty sure they weren't talking about the PS3 price drop!

I'm worried Weinstein might be bought off by the BDA however, they've been bleeding money lately.

You forgot this one:

Zodiac

It is also going to have special features unlike the first DVD version released earlier this year. I hate double-dipping, but in this case I am getting special features + HD resolution!

Meanwhile, I am looking forward to There Will Be Blood. That movie should be badass. I am a Petroleum Land Management major (landman) and Sinclair's novel Oil! is an influence for the film meaning that it will likely have a negative bias against landmen, but it'll still be cool to see my profession portrayed on the big screen by Daniel Day-Lewis!

For next summer, I am looking forward to Iron Man and Mummy 3. Of course, nothing trumps The Dark Knight for me. It is my most anticipated movie of my life and I can't wait for it, in IMAX or on HD home video.

Been dying to see Zodiac for a long time, nearly snapped and pickup the SD release when there was no HD date but glad I didn't. I'll also second The Dark Knight...

There are some here I'd like to see, but in all honesty I doubt any of them will actually be better than Ratatouille, very good though they may be.
