Yeah I'm VERY happy I got mine at BB yesterday, because I would have showed up at 8 and been out of luck. People were ready for this sale. Good for hd-dvd.

I was very happy to see that 2 of my local stores (even the small one) get in 50 players, and a stack of movies.
Good for HD-DVD.
And they sold out in 40 minutes.

The question to ask is will they be getting more stock. Is this or is this not a fire sale?

it's a fire sale for A2's for sure.
the A2 is the old model ok.
The A3 is the new one. I doubt they will get more A2's.
this is really no different than what Sony does with the PS3.
they reduce the price of the outgoing model to make room for the new one. this is the exact same thing.

20 Min and Sold out of players. They sold out of Alexander in about five minutes. I was like tenth in line and every one before me purchased one. People were picking up between 2 and 5 movies per player purchased. I called the other two Wal-Marts near by as soon as I was done at mine looking for Alexander and one was sold out and the other had only one copy and couldn't hold it. So yeah pretty crazy this morning. The store manager at my local Wal-Mart said they would be doing these surprise sales multiple times until Christmas. They are expecting to have the player in stock on a more regular basis after the new year.

The important thing is that people are buying these players and movies. Of course they would be sold out quickly. Hopefully we will have something similar in Canada in the near future.

Sold out in under 30 minutes at the local store. TONS of movies left tho. I didn't see hardly anyone buying movies.

I think most people are going to flip the players on eBay.
