Default 'Rush Hour 3' - pre-release buzz

New Line is apparently planning a next-gen release for the the third film in the Jackie Chan-Chris Tucker franchise, with the Blu-ray edition hitting stores on December 26, day-and-date with the standard-def DVD), and an HD DVD edition to follow sometime in 2008.

I guess this is good news...The movie was decent but would rather buy a Box Set...so lets hope thats what the delay is for.

Yeah, that excuse doesn't really make sense since there are way more region free DVD players out there than HD DVD players, but that does not stop them from releasing DVDs.

Thumbs down Looking forward to the following:

LOTR Trilogy
Blade 1 and 2
Rush Hour 1,2,3
A Nightmare on Elm Street
Austin Powers 1 and 2
Final Destination 1,2,and 3

and many more that I cant think of right now

Thanks to New Line for supporting HD-DVD

Prefered Specs:

1080p/VC-1
TrueHD 5.1

Dont care about special features But PnP will be nice for newer titles, and LOTR trilogy as well.

"HD-DVD will have true PnP that everyone can enjoy on release day, while BD owners will have to depend on there manufacture to provide Profile 1.1 update and thats assuming there hardware is compatible".

^ Yeah, I wish they would release some of their catalog titles since they won't need to be delayed for region coding issues.

Yes but they can't control region free DVD players. Releasing titles that can be sold across any border may be a violation of some of their distrobution deals. It could just be they are thumbing their nose at a non-encoded format. New Line is one of the first studios to really make a statement about their preference when it comes down to region coding.

I know that every HD-DVD owner is dead set against region coding (for good reason), but it benifits the distributors.

I'm sure neither side would like to see their copy of LOTR held up by several months due to a distrobution deal.

Can't believe we waited this long for New Line and this is the treatment we finally get. So much for them being neutral.

I wouldn't buy this movie anyway but a day will surely come when they do release a non catalogue title I want and I get stuck with an x month delay for no reason. New Line, frankly, you're a joke, and this is exactly the kind of shoddy treatment that leads people to bittorrent.

By the time this actually gets released, I wonder if they'll be a buzz at all from HD DVD fans...
