Default Titantic HD DVD

I think Titantic HD DVD would be a huge sales boost. Titantic still holds the world's record for boxoffice pormance and I would actually buy it in a heartbeat. My girlfriend would blind buy that easily. I would love to see it in High Deff, has anyone heard any news about it? That would be a sting for Blu-Ray.

Although I didn't like the movie and therefore wouldn't buy it, I do think that it would be a great addition, although I'm not sure how strong it's DVD sales were.

Blu Rays lineup in the UK really is starting to actually shape up better than in the US imo. Transformers the Original Movie, Bruce Almighty, Starship Troopers etc. This whole "distribution rights" malarky is an interesting one.

Malarky, damn good word to describe the situation.

Bollocks also covers the distribution rights crap.

Titanic's packaging had Paramount originally, if I'm not mistaken on the 1 discer, and then Fox did distribution on it. It was a part of the Paramount/Dreamworks Acad Award best picture box set as well, so I seriously wouldn't know who'd distribute this. Just like the Holiday, was dual Sony/Universal. UK got HD, US got blu.

I think it would also look amazing on HD DVD. The 3-disc SD they released a couple years ago looked outstanding as well, so I can only imagine what this would look in HD. And imagine the sound...

It's a movie that certainly wouldn't appeal to everyone, but would no doubt be a big seller for HD DVD.

You do realize that the biggest target audience for Titanic doesn't own (or probably care about) HD-DVD or HD media at all? In fact, chances are better than not they don't even know what "HD-DVD" is. I actually don't think it would sell all that well, considering the demographics of HD media buyers.

I love Leonardo and Titanic as much as the next girl, but I wouldn't spend $200-400 on new stuff to watch it, and I actually own a home theater. If I wouldn't do it, I know other women my age sure aren't going to bother.
