I didn't know TMT 6 was out, but TMT 5 works well for me (most of the time anyway). You could always download it to see if it works and then revert to TMT5 if it doesn't (assuming you have access to the TMT 5 install file).

Someone at AVS says it does. I have TMT 3 somewhere on a disc but I can't find it. I think I will download TMT 6 because it has windows 8 support. The new HTPC I just ordered comes with windows 8

The trial version of TMT6 won't play HD DVDs for me. I tried 3 HD DVDs with and without AnyDVD HD. It acts like it is loading then crashes and close the program. It played a Blu-ray fine.

That's not a good sign. Could be a bug specific to HD DVD playback (which they may not bother to fix), or it could be removal of HD DVD support altogether. Have you tried to contact them? Also have you tried to play an HD DVD file (.evo)?

I asked on their forums if it plays HD DVDs but they never replied. I just ordered a copy of PowerDVD 7.

I'm running TMT 6 on Windows 8 with a Asus Xonar HDAV Slim Soundcard. Depending on the audio format on the movie all movies work fine with a little soundcard setting adjustment. I think if I was just running them through a regular soundcard they would run fine under Windows 8. If I rip them to the hard drive they play smoothly but if I am running them from disc I need to have AnyDVD HD running otherwise the video stutters during play. It is something they are aware of over at Arcsoft but don't think they can fix due to it not being worth it. I haven't tried TMT 6 under WinXp to see if it would work any better. Might have to give it a try.

Good to know that they haven't purposely removed it (although they're apparently not doing anything to make sure it still works in updated versions).

Tried TMT 6 under Windows XP and it has the same issues as Windows 8. Thought it might have been a hardware incompatability with Win 8 but no such luck. Stick with TMT 3 or an early version of TMT 5 for your HD DVD playback. Later versions of TMT 5 supposedly broke HD DVD playback also. Might have to do with the Cinavia protection that was added.

I've also been using TMT6 under windows 7 with a XONAR DX and ATi 5750. I recently watched the Matrix trilogy (I should have stopped after the 1st movie)

The MC executable suffered from tearing but the standard one plays fine. I do have AnyDVD HD in the background though.

As an alternate I also played the movie files directly using JRiver MC and the image and sound is fantastic. No menus and movies are usually split so intermissions are back in style
