I made a list a while back, and it's buried at the bottom of my HD DVD exclusives thread. It probably needs to be updated though, especially regarding the latest Universal releases.

List of HD DVDs that have better PQ (based on reviews, consensus posts from screenshot threads, other posts, and my own comparisons). The imports are compared to the US Blu-ray.

Paramount/Dreamworks:
Sahara
Four Brothers
Aeon Flux
The Italian Job
Reds
Coming to America
Lara Croft: Tomb Raider
Dreamgirls
Sleepy Hollow
We Were Soldiers

Universal:
Apollo 13
The Thing
The Mummy Returns
U-571
Army of Darkness
Casino
Spartacus
Tremors
American Graffiti
Animal House
The Big Lebowski
Being John Malkovich
The Deer Hunter
Erin Brokovich
The Sting

Imports:
Band of Brothers
Terminator 2: Judgement Day
Total Recall
Crank
Silent Hill
Equilibrium
The Machinist
1408
Reservoir Dogs

List of HD DVDs that have better audio specs than their (U.S.) Blu-ray counterparts.

WB: (HD DVD is TrueHD while Blu-ray is [email protected])

Ant Bully
Happy Feet
Lady in the Water
Phantom of the Opera
Training Day
The Wicker Man

Paramount/Dreamworks: (HD DVD is [email protected] while Blu-ray is [email protected])

Aeon Flux
Babel
Black Snake Moan
Coming to America
Dreamgirls
Face/Off
Failure To Launch
Flags of Our Fathers
Four Brothers
Freedom Writers
Hustle & Flow
The Italian Job
Lara Croft: Tomb Raider
The Manchurian Candidate
Mission: Impossible
Mission: Impossibe II
Mission: Impossible III
Nacho Libre
Norbit
Payback: Straight Up - The Director's Cut
Reds
Sahara
Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow
Sleepy Hollow
Shooter
Trading Places
U2: Rattle and Hum
The Warriors
We Were Soldiers
World Trade Center

You know that the fact that some movies have DD+ does not always mean that are gonna sound better than a good dolby 640 right? Sometimes they even can sounds identical.

The list I made doesn't necessarily claim [email protected] sounds better than DD640 on every title, it just notes which titles have a higher audio bitrate.

By the same token, just because a title is lossless doesn't automatically mean it's going to sound better than DD+. It depends on the movie and one's setup.

Basically its depends of the movie/source and the position of the speakers-subwoofer like 70 % really. The "acoustic", the wires, the brand of the HT/BDP-HDVDp, DVDp,are minors details.

True, but I meant all things being equal except for the codec. Same source, same setup, different codec.
