Default Favorite HD DVD in your collection? Which do you Cherish?

As a huge lover of everything HD DVD... I got to thinking tonight which HD DVD do I love the most... for me it was not an easy choice. There are so many in my collection, maybe not as many as NORWOOD HD  but I have a nice collection and wanted to narrow down my favorite.

I could be biased as say my own films, but that would be too easy, but based on presentation, availability and just overall coolness I had to go with the TERMINATOR 2 Steelbook.

Don't know why this HD DVD stands out for me, but I love this disc, maybe it is the Steelbook keep case, maybe it is the film itself, but out of the 300+ HD DVD titles I own... T2 SB has got to be my personal favorite.

What is yours?

Pan's Labyrinth French ultimate edition. Having Del Toro's sketches is pretty much the coolest thing ever and the included soundtrack cd is fantastic.

Awesome thread, love it. Do I have to pick just 1? Of my 300+ HD DVDs, my absolute favorite is Peter and the Wolf because:

1). The HD Video blows me away every time I see it.
2). It was difficult/fun to acquire. From an autobiographical standpoint, I put together a mini-group buy for a small number of TBS members and ordered direct from the distributor in Germany, getting better pricing on the disc than could typically be had at the time.
3). The menus on the disc are unique and enjoyable. One thing I still like about most domestic HD DVDs is the relative continuity of disc navigation structure from disc to disc, studio to studio, but it also became monotonous and somewhat boring. Peter and the Wolf has bangin' menus and deviates from the norm.
4). It's relatively rare - you won't find it in every collection.

Alternates:
A). Death Proof - a relatively common disc, but it's a Steel Book, and hello, it's Tarantino. And seriously, the villain is called Stuntman Mike and he drives a killer (literally, pun-intended) 1970 Chevy Nova. That's badass.
B). Jersey Girl, Equilibrium (Rebellion), and Reign of Fire - these Toshiba Discs from Japan are ultra cool in every way.

Most watched is easily Hoodwinked (Poland) - I just love this movie and the disc is stellar

Most impressed with is Chronicles of Riddick (Japan) I got this after my collection was over 200 and even though I am not a huge fan of the film I watch this STILL and say "WOW" just from how good it looks

Worst disc in my collection is far and away "The Wicker Man" - This film should NEVER have been made. I actually sold this disc and told myself that even as a collector I wouldn't own it again and then got it in a "pile" I bought off Ebay. I would rather be tied to a chair with my eyelids stapled open and forced to watch Norbit over and over on infinite repeat than watch this crap again

T2 was a cool disc when everything worked on it. Now it is sorta "meh" to me other than it being a Steelbook (and I dislike Steelbooks) and that there are only 3 Steelbooks total out there on HD DVD

Guilty Pleasure disc is Waterworld.. Great visuals on a not so great film. I watch this every couple months or so

Favorite "Rare" disc is Project Papo (Japan) just because it is one of the few discs that is actually pretty "Rare"

Funny thing is that even though my BDs are quickly outnumbering my HD DVDs I still watch the HD DVDs I own more often. Not sure why but most of my BDs I watch once and then put back on the shelf (except Disney animation which get played a TON in my house) but I have watched probably 90% of my HD DVD collection 3+ times

The trailer for Hoodwinked had me rollin with laughter in the theater, especially when the turtles yelled RUN and took off in a turtle sprint. LMAO. Too bad for me the movie didn't quite live up to the hilarity of the trailer.

FYI, my second favorite HD DVD is The UK release of THE PRESTIGE

Without question my favorite is Band of Brothers and I consider it the crowl jewel of the format. Both because it holds its value well and it's the best content on the format (hard to argue with a 9.6 IMDb rating).

I also love Touching the Void, The Japanese Sumarai trilogy, Under Siege, For a Few Dollars More and of course Hoodwinked! There's of course many others I like a lot and even more that I haven't watched yet, lol.

As for demo material, I think Winx Club had the most impressive looking PQ. Certainly in terms of eye candy. Shame that it has no English support though (although I bought the German import DVD so I could have the English language track, just waiting to see how I can mix them together, although unfortunately it won't compare to the Italian HD DVD audio. I'd rather have the subs).

For me its definitely the hd dvd exclusives - The Big lewbowski , billy madison , happy gilmore, Half baked , DAzed and confused, Grand Prix, Midnight, run and Mall rats .In case you cant tell i love stoner comedies minus grand prix  Its been awesome being able to see these movies in HD while all the blu ray only people havent :iconhddvdpngci7:.... (yes i smoke alot of tree). For non exclusives its probably Casino and the Thing as both look better on HD DVD than BLU ray. Im glad that we also have the better PQ tranfers of old universal titles as now Universal just slaps on DNR when they release them on BLU.
