Default question about ordering from amazon.de

i just ordered a bunch of movies from amazon.de without specifying them as gifts. does this mean i'll get hit with duties/taxes?

can anybody with ordering experience confirm this?

thanks!

No, you won't pay taxes. Just the price you see. However, my bank did charge me about $4 for an international transaction fee.

The one time I ordered from Amazon.de I got 4 titles..
When I opened the boxed shipment for "Silent Hill" and "Underworld" it was with a live stowaway from Germany..
A ROACH!!! I was freaked.

That was my experience with them

Oh and a free copy of "Resident Evil 2" on BD and HD because they screwed up with shipping out the movie in the wrong format. They told me to just keep it and that it would cost them too much to send back They then sent me a free HD DVD version.

I know that in Australia there's an amount that you can get before being taxed and if the value is under that amount then no tax.

Didn't realize that would happen, but mine was only $1.36. Just enough to annoy me

In Japan it's also possible to hit some customs limit. Once for an Amazon.com order that was close to $200 in value I was charged 700 yen as some kind of customs fee by the post office person who made the delivery. Same kind of thing happened when I ordered some relatively expensive camera equipment from the U.S. Luckily the limit is not too low and I usually don't order individual packages that much exceed $150 in value.

In Europe the customs limits are much stricter and the payments are higher, that is if somebody in EU area orders stuff from outside of EU area.
