Default American Gangster UK Director's cut??

I haven't bought the American Gangster yet, but from what I'm hearing the UK import release will have the unrated cut???

Can anybody confirm this for me, as I most likely will import this if this is true.

Thanks

The Unrated cut probably isn't Scott's preferred version of the film.

I read somewhere that the info about UK release being an Unrated cut was obsolete and not correct. I'm not sure about this though, maybe somebody from UK can confirm.

The Swiss Disc is the same as the UK one. It was previously announced as the Directors Cut as well. But now all retailers have changed the status to Non-Director's Cut. At least it will not be a Combo Disc (For those of you who hate them.)

But the combo disc has the director's cut on the DVD side. I would say in this case it's an advantage of the combo disc.

Nowhere on either the DVD or HD DVD/DVD combo does it call the unrated extended cut a "director's cut". Also Scott only supplied the original theatrical version with a commentary so the extended cut probably doesn't represent his true version. The theatrical American Gangster, just like the theatrical Gladiator, is what Scott wants you to see. The extended versions are purely marketing.

Amazon Uk has American Gangster for 6.48 ( 5.51 w/o VAT)
Is the UK edition the same as the US?
If not is it better or worse?

UK version is non-combi and is theatrical cut only. Amazon.co.uk had and still lists is has having both cuts.
Even though I can get this pretty cheap on in the sales, am gonna wait for the as hopefully they will have both cuts in hi-def.
