Default Saw II and III to come to HD DVD on Feb 12th

German distributor Kinowelt will bring 'Saw II' and 'Saw III' to HD DVD and Blu-ray in Germany on February 12th. The bi-format release of the fourth instalment is planned for September.

The French Fairy Tale/Nature movie 'Le renard et l'enfant' will be released in July, the Fox Sci-Fi flick 'Jumper' (directed by Doug Liman, 'Bourne Identity') in October, also on both formats, reaffirming Kinowelt's commitment to format-neutrality.

I'll be getting Saw II from this group. I already own the DFW release of Saw III.

In only a couple of weeks, I'll have Saw I-III......I can certainly wait for Saw IV later in the year.

I want the Saw trili on HD DVD. Besides of Amazon.de is there another good site for importing these in the US?

I also know Death Proof, the second film in Grindhouse is releasing in March. I'd like to pick that up too!

Xploited Cinema is usually good about having imports shortly after (if not before) street date.

Saw III is available today as a Dutch release. I remember reading that the unrated version of Saw III cannot be sold in Germany. I do not know which version the Dutch release is, however. What I do know is that it has a beautiful transfer (as beautiful as Saw can get, that is) and an incredible soundtrack.

Hows the PQ of the SAW III Dutch release from DFU? I'm on the fence about getting this one.

Thanks

I thought it was a great looking title. Well, as good as Saw can look. Very detailed...I don't know if it was all the extra detail in the traps but I found it to be particularly disturbing when I watched the HD DVD. Disturbing in a good way, naturally...

It's a VC-1 encode unlike other initial DFW releases that were released around the same time.
